Terms and Conditions

 

When joining the tour with Greenlander, you will accept the terms and conditions written below.

PHOTOS: Your tour photos will be delivered as JPEG files within 24 hours after your tour. For the small-group Northern Lights Tour, photos are delivered at 2048 pixels on the long edge. Photos from the Private Northern Lights Tour and Private Day Tour are delivered at full resolution. All photos sent have rights reserved – You are not allowed to re-sell any of them. We have the right to use the photos taken on the tour as promotional purposes using any media channel. If You don’t wish us to use photos of You, we kindly ask You to let us know beforehand. Since the photos will be awesome, You have a right to use them on Your personal social media platforms or any other personal use. For commercial licensing, printing or photo-resolution requests beyond the delivery described above, please contact markus@greenlander.no.

Health and infectious illness

Guests are responsible for informing us of any health condition that may affect their safe participation in the tour. Guests experiencing symptoms of a potentially contagious illness should contact us before the tour.

Greenlander reserves the right to refuse participation where there is a reasonable concern for the health or safety of the guest, other guests or our staff. If Greenlander refuses participation on this basis, the guest will be offered a full refund or, by mutual agreement, an alternative tour date.

If a guest chooses not to participate because of illness, our normal cancellation terms apply.

LIABILITY: Greenlander claims no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness or schedule change due to weather, strike or any other cause beyond Greenlander’s control. We will make every effort to safeguard our customers and their personal property, but cannot be held responsible for personal events beyond the tour operators control, or to damage sustained by tourists including those occurring outside the touring program.

We expect customers to respect Greenlander’s property and use it in good will. If the equipment is damaged due the circumstances, which could have been avoided, customer is responsible to cover the cost of damaged goods – thermal suit 2000 NOK, the thermal boots 1000 NOK and the tripod 3000 NOK.
Greenlander acts in good faith, and cannot be held responsible for any agent, hotel, coach operator, tour guide or any other person’s or company’s acts, defaults or delays. We therefore advise all customers to have comprehensive travel insurance to meet all contingencies, missed or delayed flights, personal injuries, falling ill or any other reasons not listed, which ultimate makes you unable to join the tour.

Ours tours are 100% legal and meet all the safety and local rules, issued by Norwegian authorities. Tour vehicles have full kasko insurance, which also includes customer’s health insurance. All the guides (also the drivers) have valid kjøreseddel and the tour vehicles have valid drosjeløyve (www.transportloyve.no.) Greenlander AS (org no. 917825289) is MVA registry registered and all the labour taxes are paid according to the Norwegians laws.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF: Please note, that we provide pick-up and drop-off ​only on Troms island. Pick up location for group tours is of Scandic Ishavshotel, Fredrik Langesgate 2. Exceptions are private tours. If your AirBnB address is outside the city center (more than 3 km driving from Scandic Ishavshotel,) we will drop you off to a central taxi or bus stand.

CUSTOMER CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations received at least 72 hours before the scheduled tour start receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the scheduled tour start are non-refundable. The 72-hour cutoff applies only to cancellations by the customer.

GREENLANDER CANCELLATIONS: Greenlander may cancel a tour if we are unable to operate it. If we cancel your tour, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule. This applies regardless of how close to departure we cancel. Rescheduling requires your agreement and does not replace the full-refund option.

If your tour goes ahead, no refund is given if you do not attend the pick-up or arrive more than 15 minutes late.

If your tour goes ahead and we do not see the Northern Lights, no refund is given.

No cash refunds, unless You initially paid for the tour in cash.

RESPECT OTHERS ON THE TOUR AND NATURE AROUND YOU:  It is not allowed to disturb wildlife and nature. No littering. No alcohol consumption at the time of transportation and no alcohol consumption during any other time, if it’s disturbing anybody participating the tour.

Minimum age of participants is 5.

CLOTHING: It is essential you are wearing proper clothing for each tour we provide. Please contact if you doubt what to wear. We will you provide you with clothing guidelines. Greenlander is not responsible for your insufficient clothing.
